A cloud drifts by.  It does not
last.  It appears to have form, and so
you notice it, and then it dissolves as if it were never there.  At times a cloud releases a torrent of rain
upon you, leaving a lasting impression.  At
others, it intensifies the effect of the sun, drawing your attention to its
silvery outline.  Are not thoughts just
like this?  They come and go, some large
and seemingly more important than others.
Some release rain upon you, whilst others bring sunshine.  All of them are temporary, floating in and
out of your life … none of them lasting, some catching your attention more than
others.

Do not give so much attention to your thoughts.  They merely mask the light behind them.  That is the part of you that is
permanent.  Focus on the light, and let
the clouds drift by as they will.
