Excuses, excuses.  You all have
them.  You make them in response to
expectations—either your own or others’. 
Perhaps your excuses need a bit of examining.  Why do you make some of the same ones over
and over?  Could there be something there
that truly needs changing?  You need
merely get out of the head, where excuses lie, and into the heart.  How does it FEEL when you make these
excuses?  Is there peace in your heart as
you repeat the excuse?  Then you are
exercising healthy boundaries.  Is there
a twinge of discomfort?  Then heed that
“voice.”  It is that simple.  Once again, a dose of awareness is all it
takes to propel you on a path of healing change.
