Joy, joy, joy.  It is not the result of human successes, achievements, or happy events.  Yes, you relate joy to such things, for as a result of these things you experience feelings of joy, but joy is far more than a fleeting feeling.  Those chemical reactions you experience that elicit the emotions you have learned to call “joy” arise from thoughts associated with the aforementioned occasions.  And so, you have an experience, which triggers a thought, which triggers chemicals, which result in the feeling, and you call this joy.  But what is joy, really?

The experiences which trigger joy are those that mimic connection, purity, clarity, oneness.  All of these are your true nature.  Where there is no separation, where there is clarity—both of which are attributes of Pure Awareness, Source, Consciousness, God, there naturally arises joy.  Do you see?  And as the expression, the bubbling up of Pure Awareness that you are, joy is your true nature.  You are Joy.  Joy doesn’t result from human occasions.  Joy is present at all times beneath and “before” these human occasions.  If you have “lost” the joy in your life, you are focused outward on human things.  Turn inward and find the joy that has never gone anywhere and cannot be lost, merely obscured by thoughts.
