Goatherds keep their flocks
together, carefully standing guard.  But what
happens when one of the flock wanders off?
It has a wondrous adventure.  Yes,
there may be danger outside the flock, but there is also stagnation
within.  The one who steps outside the
group may or may not return.  If he does,
he brings back what he has learned.  Those
in the greater group may or may not learn from him.  They may feel threatened, for they sense a
change.  The goatherd is upset, for one
of his followers did not obey.  He lost
control.  As for the goat, he has tasted
freedom.  He is changed forever.  He knows there is so much more possibility
beyond the confines of his flock.  And now
he may or may not be able to wander away again physically, but in his mind he
is free, which is what you are at all times.
