A woman writes:  I am
just losing faith by the minute watching two of my friends in Hospice die.  As a child in church they taught us that God
was omnipotent, loving and created each of us the way we were supposed to be.
We are not created equal. Some are born with horrible lives to bear. Why would
a loving God create us with the possibilities of having things like cancer? I
am sick of the answers that ministers give us saying we have something we need
to learn, or someone around us needs to learn something from our suffering I
just don’t get it and it is getting harder and harder for me to believe in
anything spiritual.

Sanaya Says:  Does a child understand why you must at times induce pain to ensure its
safety?  No, it does not.  Yet, if it feels your love, it will
trust.  It is all a matter of trust,
perspective, and love.  Those who suffer
misfortune do not always see the reasons.
We can only ask you to find the love in the situation and to bring love
where love is seemingly absent.  Many
misfortunes occur as a result of the human’s free will.  We look down upon this and send our love,
knowing that misfortune is but a temporary facet of a multi-faceted existence.  Look around you.  Love is there.  The greater perspective will come at some
point, perhaps not whilst still in human form.
When it comes—this understanding—you will see and feel the reasons, and
you will understand.  For now, yes it is
challenging, this human life.  Faith and
trust come by grace.  Do not cease
praying for the gifts of trust, patience, and love.

Nary a moment passes that you are not loved
Like a hand that strokes the face, velvet-gloved
You feel the soft caress, a breeze that blows
Across the mind, in an instant it shows
That you are never alone, despite your fears.
Love, its magnificent head it rears.
In small ways and great
This is your fate
To discover the Presence in spite of your doubt.
These are what all the tests are about.
These challenges are not just “pass or fail.”
It matters not if you rant and rail,
For life is ongoing; there is no end.
These tests are actually a gift we send
To strengthen your trust
Yes, faith is a must
If these trials and tests you wish to survive.
This is the challenge of being alive.
In the end you’ll see that this is one book
With a succession of chapters, each one with a “hook.”
To rise above is what you learn
And in so doing your wings you earn.
With faith you’ll rise, with trust you’ll soar.
Through these tests life brings on the way to Heaven’s door.
