Listen.  What do you hear when you stop talking?  What do you notice when you stop thinking?  You cannot stop thoughts from arising, but when you pause to listen, the thoughts arise and are noticed in awareness.  Now you can choose which ones to follow, instead of blindly responding to those which no longer serve you.  If you wish to no longer be a slave to automatic reactions, addictions, and less than helpful behaviors, listen.  And then listen again, and again, and again.  Moment by moment.
