“I’m not myself today,” you say.  And who, we ask, is the real you?  “It’s not this crabby, listless person,” you
reply, and you are partially correct.
That is indeed one of your many selves.
You have a limitless, infinite number of selves if you consider ego a
self.  The ego takes on roles.  It has personality.  It can be flamboyant or withdrawn.  The soul is the eternal, ever-evolving part of
you.  It carries ego’s personalities
whilst in human form, and from these personalities and experiences it grows, but
it knows these personalities are only temporary.

The soul more closely aligns with the One Mind from which it
arises.  The soul knows that its true
nature is Love and the bliss which goes beyond human joy.  When you are not feeling “yourself,” this is
the soul reminding you of your greater aspects.
It is difficult to express your higher Self at all times, but these nudges
of what is possible, of who you are, do keep you from despairing and give you
hope.
