StillnessYour suffering comes from clinging … whether this be clinging to an idea that something or someone must be or go a certain way, or clinging to the way things have always been.  Suffering is very closely tied to fear, for you believe that if things do not go a certain way, then you will suffer.  And so you cling, and then you suffer.  Do you see why they call it a vicious cycle?  You can step off the cycle quite easily, simply by recognizing human thoughts and patterns and fears in action.  Where do they not exist?  In the mind of the soul, which does not cling and does not insist and does not fear.  That part of you that is the soul—the greater, eternal aspect of your I AM, is always there.  How do you find it?  Root around in the heart region until you no longer feel tension, clenching, or difficulty breathing.  When these have gone, you have shifted allegiance from the suffering to the peace, and lo, it was there all along.
