memories1A necklace that you wear … a lock of your loved one’s hair.  Reminders that their love’s still there.  So many ways you have to keep the memories alive, as in your head their thoughts do thrive.  Where have they gone, the ones you mourn?  Back to their former Home reborn.  No need to cry, they’ve not gone far.  As close as your breath, at your side they are.  For what is true cannot be lost, but turns to mist like melted frost.  Gaze through the glass where that frost did cling.  Look oh so close ‘til your heart does sing, “I feel your presence!  That scent I know!  In my heart, that familiar glow …  Why, you’ve not gone far … not far at all.  In this awareness I can now stand tall.  I await the time when the glass is gone and your countenance I gaze upon.  For now I rest in assurance true, that side by side I walk with you.”
