If someone says a good thing about you, does that make you feel
good?  If someone says a bad thing about
you, does that make you feel bad?  Why do
you care?  If others’ opinions or
statements cause you to go up and down like a thermometer, then perhaps you
might want to examine that.  Do you like
being mercurial?  It is not necessary
when you realize that your thoughts cause your feelings.

What do you wish to feel?
What do you wish to convey to the world?
Examine your motives.  Are you
trying to please the world or simply please God?  The thing is, you do not need to please God,
for there is no Supreme Being who judges you.
There is simply “being,” and when you can clear away all of the muddiness
from slogging through emotions, all that remains is love.  In that case, what does it matter what others
think or say?

“Please God, may I love myself today, no matter what.  And in so doing, I can then be the presence of
Love, which is all that matters.”
