Rainbows are a refraction of Light — all of your known colors on a spectrum diffracted so that they seem to be separate colors.  They are magical to you, for they seem to appear out of nowhere.  They are magical, for they allow you to believe what the soul already knows:  there is more than just the blue sky and the green grass, and more than just this life that seems so temporary when one you love does pass.  You are a rainbow.  You are a diffraction of the Light of awareness.  You are displayed with beauty and wonder upon the palette you call Life in your many colors and forms.  When seen from afar, overlaid against the blue sky and the green grass, you appear to be separate from the landscape. When seen for what you are, you realize that you cannot be separate from all around you, for you are the Light.  No wonder you love rainbows.  No wonder your loved ones call them to your attention after they appear to have left you.  Appearances are deceiving.  There is only Light.
