Lost in eyes“I get lost in your eyes.” This is a phrase oft said by lovers, and for good reason. There is great spiritual truth in these words. Those who have not made a connection with others know only separation. They focus on the smaller self … on “I” as an individual. Those who are experiencing love are experiencing a connection with another at a soul level. They are willing to look beyond the self and see into the soul of another—to connect at the heart.

When gazing into the eyes—the portal to the soul—the smaller self disappears for a while. The sense of “I” goes away. It is lost as the awareness that one belongs to a greater reality—part of something greater than the self—is remembered. The “I” gets lost through gazing into the eyes of another and connecting with the heart and soul. “I get lost in your eyes,” you say, and you feel giddy. Welcome Home.

It does not take another to feel this bliss. Look into a mirror. There you will also find a pair of eyes. Gaze there. Do not avert the eyes. Gaze deeply and activate the heart. See what we see when we look into your soul. You are loved. You are loved beyond words, for you are Love itself.
