When you realize you have made
a mistake, how do you react?  The answer
is most telling.  The more upset you are,
the greater the gift if you can see it as such.
Mistakes in themselves are not the gift, but they can easily lead to
learning.  Do you tense and think, “Oh, I
must be perfect!”  Do you worry what
others will think?  What do those
reactions teach you?  And what of the
reaction of others?  Do they not also
have much to reveal and teach?  Ah, yes,
gifts abound in so-called “mistakes.”  “I
cannot believe I made that mistake!” you say, and perhaps now you can believe
and will smile at the gift.  Is not all
of life a gift?
