Meditation is not an escape from the world; it provides perspective on the world as you know it.  By blocking out the senses, you come to discover that you are still perceiving insights beyond your ken, yet without the senses. Har-ken back to the world beyond thinking and knowing, and there you will find a more expanded world beckoning.  When you come to know there is a greater reality, and thus, in a sense, more than one world, or at least more than this world as you have known it until now, then you ken perceive what you always thought was the only world in a w-holy new way.
