groovesThere is a certain order to your life. It has a rhythm. You could call it your song. You are used to its beat. You know its notes forward and backwards. You sing its lyrics as your life goes humming along, and then something happens to rock your world. Suddenly you are singing a new tune, and the harmony seems to have vanished. Life is like that. Why? For it is all about making music. If your record player is stuck on the same tune, you go round and round, never experiencing the fullness of creation.

Attachment: it leads easily to disharmony. Be aware of becoming so attached to your personal record that the grooves become deep and you become stuck. Be adventurous. Try a new song from time to time.

Note from Suzanne: My world was rocked when we arrived home from our 6 month tour the same day my mother was admitted to the hospital. Several incidents over the past five days knocked me very much out of alignment, causing me to play a new tune. Calling on all the tools in my “Let Your Spirit S.O.A.R.” arsenal, the one I found most helpful was “Downgrade your demands to preferences.” Silently stating, “I would PREFER that _________” (Ex. “I would prefer that my mother not be going through this, but life is like this.”) allowed me to release attachment and find peace far more easily. May this tool work for you the next time you face a challenge. On a happy note, we took her home yesterday afternoon. What joy to escort her into the dining room of the independent living facility where she lives and have the residents erupt into applause for her. May we all be loved that much. xxoo
