Note from Suzanne: Later this week I will be presenting a talk on “Mastering Meditation” to a group called the “Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise Club. I wasn’t consciously thinking about the name, but Sanaya had a bit to say this morning …

Healthy, wealthy, and wise. Laudable goals for a human being. Is one more preferable than another? What would you gain from attaining each? If it is power, we ask you to examine your motives more closely. If it is peace, then you are on the right track. What good are health, wealth, and wisdom if they bring not peace? What good are they if not used to spread that peace and joy to others?

More and more and more wealth and wisdom will not bring about more and more and more peace. Money is a thing. Peace is a state. Wisdom helps you to attain this. The measure of true wisdom is how it is used to bring more goodness into your world. Health follows peace in most cases, but not all, for certain life lessons must be learned through illness. There is the matter of karmic debt, a very real thing. This is when peace becomes a goal even greater than health.

If you can be healthy or unhealthy, wealthy or poor, wise or not and still find peace, then you have a treasure beyond words. How to attain this oft-elusive peace? Sit in the silence, my friend, and ask that question of God. Repeat this practice until you have your answer.
