First and foremost, work on your connection with your Higher Self, the Divine Self, the soul, and then focus on your guides.  Both your Self and your guides are always present, but perhaps not in your conscious awareness.  Guides are quite patient and are standing by to help you, but the greatest advice we can give you is to know thyself.  When you know your own Higher Self, you can see your own blockages and work to clear them.  This will make it even easier to connect with your spiritual Team.  In essence, all is connected, and the essence that connects you is Love-Light-Energy-Consciousness, so begin with getting to know your Self.  It is so very nice to know You.
