How many times have you felt the urge to jump in and fix or change something or someone, to control a situation?  Do you feel the instant increase in physical and emotional tension as you recreate such a scene?  That feeling is one you would be wise to catch as it is happening.  Feel it as an alarm that goes off in your mind, but this time say to the self, “Stop!”  And now, unless harm is about to befall another, allow the situation to unfold as the learning opportunity it is—not just for the other, but for you as well.  As you stand there quaking, fighting the urge to jump in and control or manipulate, smile as you ask yourself why.  The answer may lead to layer upon layer of new understanding of the difference between the soul and the story.
