nature-forest-industry-railsYou see someone “wasting away” as you call it, so physically depleted that they are unable to do anything, and you wonder why they “hang on,” why they are still here.  Is this your measure of living:  being able to “do”?  Yes, of course you have human standards, and in your mind, doing leads to enjoyment and fun things, but life is not simply about doing.  Life is “being,” and this you “do” with or without activity.  Life is about the love and growth that results from being.

Look at the growth and the love that ensue from caregiving.  Do not think that all parties must “do” to be of value or to grow.  There is purpose in every living thing, no matter whether it does anything or not.  Simply by being, love can ensue.
