Discomfort in the body immediately draws your attention to the site of
that discomfort.  You cannot ignore it,
and so you take action toward relief.  Do
you know that your emotions play the same role? 
Any emotions less than pleasant cause you discomfort.  But oh, are you not so very good at ignoring
quite a few of those less desirable feelings? 
You push them down and suppress them. 
And what happens?  They eventually
become the physical discomforts.  These
you may also ignore until discomfort becomes dis-ease.  It is all connected … mind, and body, and
most certainly spirit.  Do your Self a
favor and pay attention when the mind and body speak.
