At first you hear a message that is useful. Is it from my guides? And then your own thoughts jump in. Once they begin, it is quite easy for them to take over. “But how do I know the difference,” you ask, “between my thoughts and those of higher consciousness?” One is guiding, the other distracting. One takes you closer to Source, the other farther away. Focus keeps you in the center. Habit takes you to that scattered place where ego likes to keep you. A disciplined mind may be challenging for some, but the practice of presence need not be a chore. Find your center and spend some time there throughout your day. In this way, when Spirit comes a’ knocking, you know the difference and answer the door.
