Misunderstandings occur due to language differences. You know what you are trying to express, but the other does not receive your words in the way you intended them. Be impeccable with your words, indeed, but if the word you choose is not part of the other’s vocabulary or perhaps used a different way in their vernacular, you may encounter a challenge. This is why LIFE is a dance. Take a step, pause, and check for understanding. Take a step, pause, for communion. Take a step and flow as one. You are so very loved.

A picture of a ballroom or partner dancing couple would be a more fitting. Only because I have taught many couples and I know that dance is truly a metaphor for and it’s own form of communication.
thank you so much! this has happened to me many times and I am learning to be more careful! love the four agreement reference ❤️
Just forwarded this to my husband, whom I adore, but we sometimes get tangled up on just this, especially when texting. TY 😊
communication is the key to every successful relationship.
This is exactly what I needed to hear today! Thank you💖
I have a friend. He lives in Palestine… I am a Christian, he a Muslim. I’m an American, he is Palestinian of multicultural discent. We experience this very thing, sometimes, when each one of us wants to express something so passionately and so lovingly, yet the other person misunderstands the meaning, because our intended meanings get lost in translation. because my first language is English and his Arabic. But, we always seem to understand and create a successful resolution because we start connecting at a SOUL level. We slow down and start communicating in ways where we have to make better WORD choices. that we discover the other person will understand better. And sometimes we have to use metaphors. We remind ourselves that WE are LOVE and WE LOVE each other, unconditionally, SO much.
