Bereavement … it need not last forever.  “How can you say that?” you ask when in the grip of your grief.  And that is the key:  it is your grief caused by where you focus your thoughts.  Think of your loved one now and focus on their absence.  You feel that pang of pain.  Now shift your thoughts and focus not on memories, not on the future, not even on the present, but focus on how very much you love the one you mourn.  Just be in and with the love, and they are there with you.  Has that love gone?  Love is eternal, and so is the soul.  Your loved ones who have passed are trying to get your attention, trying to help you heal.  Focus on the love.
