When you ask for a sign from your guides, in cases in which you are meant to get your sign, it is your guides who have prompted you to ask.  It is your guides who have put the idea in your awareness of what to ask for, knowing it is in your path.  In some cases, that sign requires yet more attunement on your part, for your guides may have to say to you, “Pay attention.  Look up now,” or “Read this book now” or “Turn left here.”  If you are listening to the voice within and act on the nudges, then the magic ensues.  These and many other methods are how we continuously show you that all is connected and you are never alone.
