Addictions and cravings … one is just a stronger version of the other, yet both stem from the same thing:  the desire to feel better, the desire for pleasure, the desire to move away from and not feel pain.  When you become aware of a craving, you struggle.  That awareness is your golden opportunity.  Pause.  Enjoy a moment of understanding as to what you do not want to feel in addition to the craving.  Now breathe in slowly and exhale even more slowly.  Do you feel a slight shift?  You will.  Now breathe in slowly again with the intention of relaxing deeply.  As you exhale, feel a shower of golden light filling you from above.  Are you feeling more relaxed now?  You cannot help it.  Now do it again, and enjoy that warm shower.  Perhaps it is a chocolate shower!  There is no reason not to have fun with this.  You are pleasing the self by relaxing with the breath, fueling yourself with light and energy that is available in abundance.  Now rate your craving.  Perhaps it is completely gone, and that is because the discomfort and tension that triggered the craving is gone.  What a blessing.  If you will trust and remember to breathe, you will live your life with far more ease.
