When a little child is tired or not feeling quite well, what do you do?  You find her a cozy spot on the couch or in her bed and you lovingly tuck a soft blanket around her.  You stroke her hair and speak soothing words softly in her ear.  You gaze lovingly into her eyes, encourage her to rest, and assure her all will be well.

Are you a bit tired?  A bit under the weather?  If not now, what of those times when you are?  This is the body and soul’s way of saying, “Nurture me.”  Can you stop your busy mind and busy world long enough to nurture yourself as you would a little child?  Can you see and speak to yourself as lovingly as you would to a tired child?  Try it, why don’t you?  Caress your own cheek for once with the self-same loving compassion and feel the love swell in your heart.  Do this often and rekindle the relationship with lost parts of the self.

You are so loved.  It can be no other way.
