When the body hurts, that is where the focus goes.  When the mind hurts, that is where the focus goes.  And what of the spirit?  The spirit does not hurt.  The spirit IS.  The spirit sustains mind and body no matter what.  The spirit breathes you.  It does not mind taking a back seat to body and mind when awareness moves there, but when you finally become aware of the imbalance, spirit is there.  It has not gone anywhere.  Where awareness goes, consciousness flows.  Bring your awareness back to spirit as often as you can, most especially when you are hurting in either mind or body or both.  Spirit carries you.  Always.  And the more you are aware of this and move your awareness Home, the lighter will be your steps.
