Fresh vs. stale—two very good words to compare. Stale has the meaning of stagnant, not moving. This can well apply to the body, but also to the thoughts. You shy away from stale food, do you not? Then you would be well advised to shy away from stale thoughts as well. Keep it moving. That is our advice today. Yes, get fresh air, but also examine your thoughts and bring in as many fresh and uplifting ones as you can create. Yes, use your co-creative abilities—the ones you inherited from your highest Self—and see life afresh.
You are so very loved.
How can I uplift my thoughts? I have a lot of negative thoughts and I’m not sure how to get rid of them. Thank you ❤️
what emotion are attached to those negative thoughts? Can you name these emotion? Are they attached to memories that you grind on? As you are feeling them thank yourself for having these feels and then release them. Release these emotions to God or the universe whichever one you believe. Try it.
Instead of getting rid of the thoughts, try transforming them into positive or even neutral thoughts. Suzanne shares that she uses the phrase ‘isn’t that interesting’.
There is a Buddhist practice called tonglen that I find very helpful when I am mired in negativity. Rather than attaching a story to a feeling, which anchors you to that emotion, I breath in that emotion allowing myself to feel it. Then, without attaching a story, I breathe out the opposite emotion. Breathe in fear, breathe out calm; breathe in sadness, breathe out happiness; breathe in loss, breathe out gratitude. it’s kind of faking it till you make it at first but it always disconnects the thoughts from the feelings and then the unwanted feelings just float away.
