It is so easy to slip into sadness when one grieves.  Once the chemicals associated with sadness begin to flow, they take on a cascading effect.  If you become aware of this, you can acknowledge this sadness.  You can honor it by saying, “That’s love.”  And in this moment of lucid awareness that you are more than your thoughts and emotions, you can honor Love by then finding thoughts about the one for whom you grieve that make you smile or even laugh.  Bring those thoughts to the forefront and feel grateful for those moments.  Now, in awareness that your loved one across the veil is watching this transformation from sadness to celebration of your love, send them a greeting and rest a while in being an expression of this love, just as all of you are.
