Worry is wasted effort. You could spend the energy your mind burns in fearing the future and fretting about the past in far more productive ways. How, you ask? Take the focus off the chatter and move it down into the heart center. Now focus on the breath as it goes in and out. Now move your focus and follow the oxygenated blood in your mind’s eye as it travels throughout the body. This focus, this practice of presence will bring your awareness to a tingling sensation throughout the body. This is an aliveness that is so stunningly different from the trap that worry ensnared you in that you may just snap out of your stupor. In present-body-awareness peace can be found. Insights can flow, and all it took was shifting awareness. Practice presence and find the peace that is here within you here and now. You are so very loved.
