To surrender your story when the drama gets to be too much, simply slip out of gear just as you would when driving a car.  It is not a deliberate act requiring you to take action.  Instead, it is a drifting motion in which you experience simply being.  In being, there is no doing, and most important for the human, there is no thinking.  “But I cannot stop the thoughts,” you claim, and you can, if only for a moment.  When the thoughts cause suffering, surrender.  Slip out of gear and coast for a moment.  And then do it again.  And again.  And again, until you remember what peace feels like.  You did not create the peaceful state.  It has been there all along … in neutral.  You are so very loved, and we welcome you Home moment by moment by moment.
