To surrender your story when the drama gets to be too much, simply slip out of gear just as you would when driving a car. It is not a deliberate act requiring you to take action. Instead, it is a drifting motion in which you experience simply being. In being, there is no doing, and most important for the human, there is no thinking. “But I cannot stop the thoughts,” you claim, and you can, if only for a moment. When the thoughts cause suffering, surrender. Slip out of gear and coast for a moment. And then do it again. And again. And again, until you remember what peace feels like. You did not create the peaceful state. It has been there all along in neutral. You are so very loved, and we welcome you Home moment by moment by moment.
